Erin,

I really appreciated this post. With all the attention I've given the presidential election, I haven't done all the homework on the other issues and candidates. Scrambling today. :)

Erin,

I know, I know... I'm all was full of... advice. But your post really hit home with me when you said, "I choose me!"

I don't agree that relationships have to end up failing, boring and/or sad. BUT, I do know that the best relationship you can cultivate is with yourself.

Take a month or two to ... date yourself. Take care of yourself. Treat yourself. Take yourself out to dinner. You're likely to be the best date you've ever had. You KNOW what you like, what makes you smile.

Ok, so the dating yourself thing gets a little weird when one considers certain aspects of the relationship. But take care of yourself and treat yourself well.

Hey -- what's all this cycling stuff anyway? Real women RUN! Wish me luck on the Denver Half Marathon tomorrow. I feel pudgy and lazy. :)

Oh, lady. I'm so sorry. I didn't see the cover, but I got an email about it.

What a mess! But at least your exes are on the covers of magazines. I'm still looking to see if some of mine make it to a Most Wanted Poster at the post office.

BIG hugs.

I read it. And I know how you feel. I spent a lot of my life feeling the exact same things. But I want you to know that everything can change in an instant when you see a beautiful red head, and then marry her.

You Rock!
I know what it's like to go back to your old college after a few years away - familiar and strange all at the same time. Sounds like your handling it really well - take the familiar parts you like and find new stuff to keep you movin' forward. Stick with the Tri-club, there cliquey everywhere (Tri people LOVE themselves, remember your old boss!) but great training and you'll soon be burning their airses!
